Weekly Update from the Eastern PA District Office
September 6, 2017
Did you know that The Alliance publishes weekly prayer requests? Please consider praying through these needs and encouraging your people to do the same.
Churches in Transition Across the District
It is our practice to share with you once a month the list of churches in transition so that you may keep these congregations, their search committees, and District leadership in prayer as they seek God to identify His person for each open position.
• Country Alliance, Clarks Summit (Glen Bayly serving as regular pulpit fill.)
• Daybreak Church, Mechanicsburg
• Harrisburg Chinese (Art Dunn serving as regular pulpit fill.)
• Moosic Alliance (Don Weidman serving as regular pulpit fill.)
• Mountain View Alliance, Jersey Shore (Nathan King serving as regular pulpit fill.)
Heart of Harrisburg Prayer Walk
From Church Planter Ricardo Volcy. A video invitation to this prayer walk can be found on the Eastern PA Church Planting Facebook page.
District family: We would love to have you join us at The Hill Church on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 10:30 a.m. for another prayer walk. It was so amazing to have so many of you and your congregation with us at our last prayer walk and we want to have even more of you join us to pray for and with many in the Allison Hill Community.
If you're able and planning to join us, please let me know. I hope to see many of you on Sept. 16!
Men’s Work and Worship Weekend
The Men’s Work and Worship Weekend is scheduled for Oct. 19-21 at Summit Grove Camp in New Freedom, PA. We would love to see teams of men from churches across the District join together for a weekend of service to Summit Grove and spiritual rejuvenation through worship and preaching of the Word. Please make the attached brochure available to the men in your church, and feel free to use the attached half-sheet promotional piece in your bulletin. Questions can be directed to Duane Stine at email@example.com or 717-985-9240.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom from the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”—Isaiah 61:1-3
