The Eastern PA District
Nearly a half million people attend more than 2,000 Alliance churches in the United States. The Eastern PA District is one of 28 districts of The Christian and Missionary Alliance in the U.S. Eighty-nine churches and church plants currently comprise the Eastern PA District.
The Eastern PA District exists to resource, equip, enable, and empower its pastors and congregations to be multiplying, healthy Great Commandment-Great Commission churches.
Implicit in this mission is the fact that the district organization is not the local church. The local church is why the district exists. In both its oversight of and service to the churches of Eastern Pennsylvania, the role then of the District can best be described as coming alongside the local church in becoming a healthy, multiplying congregation.
However, local churches of the Christian and Missionary Alliance are not wholly entities unto themselves; they are not independent. There is a partnership with other local churches and with district leadership that make their ministries more effective. The district role in this partnership is not to dictate or control but to encourage, facilitate, and support.
